At AKFSA, we are focused on educating about social anxiety disorder, its diagnosis and treatment to help more people, professionals and their loved ones understand, cope with and overcome the disorder.

largeiconAs a new way to provide resources to our community, we launched our new online, interactive live stream video sessions, via the social media app Periscope. Periscope is a live stream video app linked to your Twitter account.

Once a month, mental health professionals from AKFSA’s support network will lead discussions on various topics related to social anxiety on Periscope and viewers can ask questions in real time through the app. Subjects will be announced here and on our social media networks.

To participate, all you need to do is download the Periscope app from the Apple App store or from Google Play for Android and follow @AKFSA. You’ll need to log in with your Twitter name and password (if you’re not yet on Twitter, you’ll need to create an account to join the Periscope broadcast or sign in using your phone number).

After you’ve followed AFKSA on Periscope/Twitter, you will get an alert to your smartphone when the broadcast begins. You can also watch the broadcast by clicking the “Live on Periscope” alert link on the @AKFSA Twitter page on your desktop computer, though you will not receive an alert at the start of the broadcast.

Check this page for updates, as session hosts and topics are determined. Our current Periscope online video sessions are:
